The Move On Party gave the right charge for all the e-dancers and let the foreign dancers start joining the Russian Jam atmosphere for the first time. Day 2, was the first full journey of activities: Masterclass by Miel and then Preselections of all the categories.
In the morning, Miel made the Masterclass with a lot of people from the Kids to the Adults participating. It’s always amazing for a European eboy to see a lot of dancers in a Workshop and as I saw the year before with Treaxy, the Masterclass still a moment really loved by the Russians. Miel was happy to see a great level by the dancers, in particular from the young ones.
After the Workshops, that I personally skipped in order to concentrate on the afternoon (the MoveOn party was on my birthday), the Preselections started.
The kids were the first to entertain the Cypher in the Move&Prove arena. The area of the tournament it’s a spectacular thing: it’s like a TV studio with the light illuminating just the dance circle, a high-quality audio system and of course the one and only: Ernesto Noire, the DJ of Move&Prove World Finals.
The music is the first big difference you can hear from European and Russian contests, it’s much different, much exciting and much unpublished. As Singa told to me, “Ernesto put songs that I never heard in my life”, and that’s it what an electro-dancer really wants to find in a contest so much important as Move&Prove, things that he never saw and heard before this day.
The Cypher is another big thing you discover at your first Move&Prove impression: here the dancers can be much colder as the Western ones in the social activities, but inside the circle, it’s completely the opposite. The attitude, the personality you see from the Russian e-boys and e-girls when they dance is, from my point of view, what we miss too much in Europe.
So, the preselections started, I began to make my social work on Instagram, Facebook and the website for Electroisthefuture.com and as always, the time started to pass very very quickly.
After the selections, we had the names of the qualified dancers from each category, in particular, the most waited was the TOP16 Electro which featured the best dancers from every country who came to this event. Considering the lack of Vertifight World in the 2017 calendar, it was together with LRC International, the biggest World contest of the Year.
Looking to faces of the Spanish or Mexican people, after this real first day of Move&Prove I saw the same excitement I had in 2016 at my first time in this arena and that’s what should be every professional event made for our Electro culture. It is for sure the most professional concept in the movement and can give me the emotions of the “first time” also after the hundreds and hundreds of events I saw in my life.
And then when all the dancers were excited by the day but also very tired, they finally discover the journey was not yet ended when the “Acid Party vol.2” started to knock the door. According to me, the best party of all the weekend, but as the cool people say during these moments: this is another story.
to be continued…
