Electro and other dance styles, a lovemaking story

Its history and origins always saw Electro courted by different dance-styles. Electro is a fresh dance, a new thing, and at high levels, it is really cool, especially for the popular urban dance panorama like Hip-Hop culture and so on.

In its evolution, our dance has sometimes imported some moves from other “worlds”, but you can also find dancers outside electro-movement using good inspiration from the French-born electro culture.

Here you can see a clear example with Tombee.

Another interesting thing happened in the years with the Electro and other styles interaction is to see some e-boys joining new cultures with their Electro skills.  The Italian dancer Samu is one of them, and others have just experienced it with some one-off performance.

Here you can see Samu doing an Hip-Hop demo and then (at the end of the video) an Electro one.

From one side to another, here you can see an Electro-dancer (Singa, from Russia) dancing Hip-Hop in an allstyle contest.

Examples of dance-exchanges between Electro and Hip-Hop are also the hundreds of battles made to compare them. The most recent is from the LRC Fusion Concept in Paris of last August.

How to not mention also the famous stage of “I love this dance” and Taylor vs. Waydi, Miel vs. Wolf or Nico vs S.

The All-Star Game appearances are a perfect example of the excellent connection different dance Worlds can have. Hip-Hop and Electro differ in age and growth speed, while the first one has a history of almost 40 years and the second has just celebrated his first tenth-anniversary, but they are now facing similar problems towards their recent and new generations of dancers.

In 2017, the most important event in Paris, the Juste Debout, hosted some e-boys for an exhibition performance in the main stage of the finals.

Connections between different cultures can be a crucial point for the future of Electro and not only in the dance area. A courtship of love and hate, which should not be overlooked during our growth.
